Community Program

Kinship Grinds

Kinship Grinds is Project Kinship’s social enterprise, using coffee as a vehicle to create opportunity, build skills, and bring community together.

Through our mobile coffee cart, Kinship Grinds provides early job-training and employment opportunities for individuals impacted by the justice system. Participants gain hands-on experience in a real-world work environment while developing the confidence, skills, and workplace habits that can support their next step toward long-term employment.

Training and experience may include:

  • Coffee preparation and service
  • Customer service
  • Workplace communication
  • Time management and accountability
  • Teamwork and collaboration
  • Basic business and operational skills
  • Employment readiness
  • Hands-on job experience
  • Mentorship and individualized support
  • Connection to future employment and workforce opportunities

Kinship Grinds also partners with businesses, nonprofit organizations, community groups, and events throughout Orange County to provide professional mobile coffee service while creating opportunities for the community to directly participate in our mission.

Our social enterprise model brings together mission and sustainability. Revenue generated through Kinship Grinds helps create opportunities for people to gain experience, strengthen their skills, and demonstrate what they can contribute when given a meaningful opportunity.

Our vision is a community where a person’s past does not determine their future and where everyone has the opportunity to experience the dignity and purpose that come through meaningful work.

Every cup creates connection. Every opportunity helps build what comes next.
