Meet Jesus

Jesus was released from prison this year after 17 years of incarceration. During that time, he taught himself how to draw over hundreds of hours and discovered a passion for working with colored pencils.

While incarcerated, Jesus earned his GED, an associate degree in Business Administration, a second associate degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences, and an AutoCAD certificate in drafting and design.

Jesus came to Project Kinship as a participant and found a second home in our family-oriented community. Today, he is a full-time Peer Navigator, bringing his lived experience and passion for transformation to his work with other participants.

He is currently studying Criminology at Santa Ana College while working full-time. He also shares his story of transformation with participants, staff, and community members, offering hope and demonstrating what is possible when someone is given opportunity, support, and a community that believes in them.

Jesus wants others to know that transformation is possible. His journey is a testament to the power of hope, perseverance, and finding a community of people who genuinely care.
