Meet Arturo
When Arturo first came to Project Kinship, he was struggling with substance use and had lost custody of his children. He was facing the difficult realities of rebuilding his life and finding a path forward.
Through Project Kinship’s Substance Use Recovery services, Arturo found support, connection, and guidance from people who understood what he was going through. With the support of our Education & Employment Pathways Program, he developed a resume, attended a job fair, and took a courageous step toward a new future.
That step changed everything.
Arturo was hired by the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) as a bus operator. Today, he drives his own route, works toward a stable future, and—most importantly—has regained custody of his children.
Arturo’s journey is a powerful reminder that recovery is possible, families can be reunited, and a new chapter can begin. He is living proof of what we believe every day at Project Kinship: everyone deserves a second chance, and no one is beyond hope or redemption.
